Two Black business and community leaders are bringing their experience and perspectives to one of the Tampa Bay area’s most influential philanthropic organizations.
Roxanne Bartley and Bryce Bowden have been appointed to the Community Foundation Tampa Bay Board of Trustees. They are among five new members joining the board as the foundation continues connecting charitable giving with nonprofit organizations and community needs across the region.
Bartley serves as global chief revenue officer at TRAKAmerica. In addition to her corporate leadership, she has volunteered with several local organizations, including the Straz Center, the Caribbean-American National Development Organization and the South Tampa Chamber.
Bowden is a commercial real estate specialist with Turner Cole Company and a military veteran. His community service includes involvement with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Hillsborough County Hospital Authority, the Wimauma Community Development Corporation and the Harbour Isles Homeowners Association.
Their appointments add two Black voices with experience in business development, real estate and community engagement to the foundation’s governing board. The positions also give Bartley and Bowden opportunities to help shape philanthropic priorities and strengthen connections between charitable resources and communities throughout Tampa Bay.
“Our trustees play an important role in keeping Community Foundation Tampa Bay connected to the people, opportunities and needs across our region,” said Marlene Spalten, president and CEO of Community Foundation Tampa Bay.
Spalten said the five new trustees bring valuable connections and distinct perspectives to the organization.
Bartley and Bowden are joined by Rhea Law, former president of the University of South Florida; Bill Goede, former Tampa Bay president for Bank of America; and Sean Brown, a Florida-certified public accountant and former chief financial officer of Minor League Baseball.
The new members join the foundation’s existing Board of Trustees, chaired by Linda O. Simmons.
Founded in 1990, Community Foundation Tampa Bay works with donors, nonprofits and community partners throughout Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties. The foundation reports investing more than $516 million in nonprofit organizations serving the Tampa Bay region.
